SDSU CS 574 - Computer Security - Crash Policy

The maximum class size allowed for the section is 60 students. No crashers will be accepted until and unless space becomes available due to other students dropping the course. I will not accept crashers until the date specified in important dates.

In the meantime, perfect attendance is required of all crashers; missing a class indicates that a student is no longer interested in enrolling in this class.

If there are more crashers than available spaces, selection will be based on the total number of units completed, subject to the following priority:

1. Graduating post baccalaureate students (24 or more "500-numbered or above" units completed towards the MSCS degree)
2. Graduating seniors (112 or more cumulative units completed)
3. Post baccalaureate students (0-23 "500-numbered or above" units completed towards the MSCS degree)
4. undergraduate students (0-111) cumulative units completed
5. Open University and unverified matriculated students

All crashers, except those enrolling through Open University, must provide an SDSU transcript showing the total number of units completed, on or before the date specified in important dates. Failure to provide an SDSU transcript by the deadline forfeits your priority and you will be placed into category #5 above. Transcripts will be returned to students after the ADD/DROP deadline. In the event that two or more crashers have all other considerations equal, a random drawing will take place.

Successful crashers will be given add codes in the date specified in important dates. On that date, selected crashers must provide the following to receive their add code:

1. Student photo ID, or a temporary student ID with a 2nd form of photo identification (passport, driver's license)
2. Proof of completion of prerequisites, e.g. transcripts. This applies to graduate and undergraduate students.
